
The Centre approved a Rs 1,658.17 crore recovery and reconstruction plan for Joshimath in Uttarakhand. The decision was made by a high level committee led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Under this plan, central assistance of Rs 1,079.96 crore will be provided from the National Disaster Response Fund. The Uttarakhand government will also contribute Rs 126.41 crore from its State Disaster Response Fund and Rs 451.80 crore from its state budget. The recovery plan will be implemented in three years, following the best practices and sustainability initiatives.
