Odisha, WB chief ministers call to safeguard country’s federal structure

Odisha and West Bengal chief ministers, Naveen Patnaik and Mamata Banerjee, gave a call to protect the country’s federal structure during a meeting between them at the former’s residence in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. ​The meeting, which lasted for about 40 minutes, comes in the backdrop of Mamata’s interaction with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Kolkata last week, triggering speculation of a possible non-Congress opposition taking on the BJP in the 2024 general elections.
